Boston, Massachusetts is a popular New England tourist destination year-round for sightseeing, business, historical sites, professional sports teams, and area golf during the warmer months. If you or someone in your group desires to dine at an organic or vegan restaurant during your stay in the area, there are several choices in the Boston metropolitan area to choose from that feature vegan and organic entrees for your meal.

Grasshopper

The Grasshopper restaurant is located near Union square and is accessible via car, metro, or bus for lunch and dinner seven days a week. The restaurant specializes in organic Asian cuisine and offers large portions, moderate prices, and uses faux meats in their dishes. Appetizers include the Bean Cakes, Spring Rolls, and Sesame Buckwheat Noodles with Peanut Sauce. Entree choices at the Grasshopper include the Sweet and Sour Sensation, the Grasshopper Supreme that features Eggplant, and various side dishes to include portabella mushrooms, spinach, and asparagus. The desserts at the Grasshopper are also organic fare with the vegan cheesecake with fruit topping being one of the more frequently purchased options.

Greater Boston Buddhist Cultural Center

The Greater Boston Buddhist Cultural Center is located near Harvard and can be accessed via the MBTA or bus system if you do not have access to a rental car during your trip to the area. The restaurant specializes in serving food served in Buddhist monasteries at their cafe with servers that normally wear prayer robes to work. The food is organic and vegetarian with popular appetizers being spring rolls, won ton soup, and fresh and frozen mock meats available for "to-go" orders. The restaurant's lunch special is affordably priced at less than what you pay for a fast food meal and is served all day. It consists of rice, four side dishes, and soup. The soup and side dishes vary each day, but normally include tofu, Yuba, greens, and sauteed root vegetables. The restaurant offers a large selection of teas to include kumquat, jasmine, mango, osmanthus, and taro bubble. Many of the teas area available hot or cold and the restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday.

Grezzo Restaurant

The Grezzo Restaurant is located on the north end of Prince Street in Boston. They feature "living" organic, gourmet foods. All of the food served is grown locally and the menu is changed daily based on the chef's choice and available produce. Grezzo's is closed on Monday's, but open the remainder of the week for lunch and dinner. Popular entrees when the ingredients are available to the chef include the Falafel Tahini, BLTA Italian Bread Wrap, and the Grek Pizzeta. For those who like seaweed, Grezzo's also features a Seaweed and Wild Musroom Bistro Burger with sweet potato chips. The Brownie Sundae that consists of house made gelato with raw fudge brownie and chocolate sauce is one of the dessert options at the restaurant.
